Partners in Prevention – formally the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence of Hudson County – is a non-profit charitable organization working to build healthier communities in Hudson County and throughout New Jersey. We do this through education, coalition-building, and youth engagement that focuses on improving wellness and preventing substance abuse and related public health challenges.
I am pleased to have been involved with this worthwhile and impactful organization in various ways over the past 30+ years, first as founding Executive Director, more recently in the volunteer positions of Board member, President, and now Executive Committee member.
Experience has shown that addressing the health and wellness concerns of individuals, families, and communities requires a collaborative approach. Our leadership through the Hudson County Coalition for a Drug-Free Community brings professionals together from a wide range of community-based organizations to share knowledge and resources necessary to address these complex challenges.
We also know that by educating youth, families, and older adults on topics pertaining to the overall health of their communities, they will learn the skills needed to make healthy choices and be more resilient when faced with challenges….. And last but not least, our Lindsey Meyer Teen Institute guides young people to realize their leadership potential and become empowered to create positive changes in themselves, in their schools, and in their communities.
As I share my time, talents, and treasure with Partners In Prevention, it is enormously gratifying to watch it grow and increase its beneficial impact. Would you like to join me in supporting this great organization?
