Medication Safety Starts With You
Be Safe With Rx
Medication safety starts with you! We can all do our part to prevent the misuse of prescription drugs by engaging in safe medication practices at home, as well as educating others in the community.
With New Jersey’s Project Medicine Drop (NJPMD), the Office of the Attorney General in conjunction with the Hudson County Coalition for a Drug-Free Community, have placed secured drop boxes in the headquarters of local police departments. Partners in Prevention is working with the Hudson County Department of Health & Human Services and the Office on Mental Health and Addiction Services to spread awareness about these locations!
The Office on Mental Health and Addiction Services works closely with the State Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) to oversee the provision of prevention, education, early intervention and treatment services for residents in need of mental health and/or addiction services.
The drop boxes accept solid pharmaceuticals such as pills, capsules, patches, inhalers, and pet medications. They cannot accept syringes or liquids.
